Leading by Example: Deborah Stringfellow
Troy University alumna Deborah Stringfellow has spent her year as Alabama's 2024-2025
Teacher of the Year traveling the state, speaking to schools and colleges about the
positive work happening in Alabama classrooms. She's focused on encouraging educators
to reconnect with their purpose and reminding them why teaching is one of the most
rewarding careers.
“It's the best job in the world,” she said. “Each day in the classroom, you make an
impression — let it be a positive one.”
Her initiative, Sowing Seeds: Growing Teachers, reflects her dedication to mentoring
and empowering teachers at all stages of their careers. She reminded educators of
the importance of self-care and maintaining perspective during challenges.
