Earn Your State Producer License Before You Complete Your B.S.B.A.
Even before you complete your business degree at TROY, you'll have the opportunity to complete your state producer license in Alabama,
allowing you to sell insurance products in the state. Most TROY students earn their
state producer license in their second semester of the risk management degree program.
The risk management and insurance degree coursework is closely aligned with the Associate in Surplus Lines Insurance (ASLI)
and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) professional designations. You'll
be able to work toward these and other designations while pursuing your business degree at TROY.
Careers with the TROY Risk Management Degree
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), nearly 500,000 insurance employees will retire soon, creating a need for highly qualified insurance professionals — including those who know how to manage the risks businesses face in a global business environment. From insurance underwriters to risk specialists, your B.S.B.A. with a risk management and insurance major will prepare you for a wide range of RMI careers. Several TROY students have also continued on to law school after completing their B.S.B.A.
