Historical Sketch: Facilitated by Troy Dothan librarian Olga Casey and Troy library dean Chris Shaffer,
Troy Dothan library created a sister library relationship with Kropivnitsky State
University in 2009. In 2017-18, Troy Dothan scanned 108 slides provided by Kropivntisky
State U. of book plates showing costumes, embroidery, and pysanka (Easter eggs). In
2017, the University changed its name to Vlodymyr Vynnychenko Central Ukranian State
Pedagogical University (CUSPU) and in 2022 eliminated "Pedagogical" from its name.
Scope / Content Note: Thirty six scanned photographic slides in each of three containers: Costumes, Embroidery,
Pysanka (decorated Easter eggs). The costume slides appear to be commercial, either
produced commercially or photographed from a printed book. The pysanka slides are
bookplates from Onyshchuk, Odarka. Symbolism of the Ukrainian Pysanka. Toronto: The Author, 1985. http://www.pysanky.info/Ukr_Books/Onyshchuk.html.
