Organizational Sketch: The Fine Arts Club of Dothan, Alabama, was organized in May 1940. The club's objective is to promote intellectual and social culture.  [Source: Fine Arts Constitution, Article III (see Membership Directories, Constitution, & Programs)]

Scope / Content Note: Contains yearly programs - which includes a list of members, the club's constitution and by-laws, and meeting dates; meeting minutes, 1940-1984 & 2005-2015, officers' rosters, 1943-1945, newspaper articles, correspondence, information on the club's 50th anniversary celebration, and their Fine Arts Festivals.  File order imposed by the WA staff.

Provenance: Given to the Wiregrass Archives by Martha Nix, who retrieved them from the Houston Love Memorial Library when the library was moved to a new building.  She supplemented the materials with items from her personal collection from her time as an officer and a member of the club.
