Electronics Engineering Technology

AREA I-V Recommendations
AREA I:
A grade of "C" or higher is required in Composition I and II at Troy University.
"D" grades will not transfer.
AREA II:
When selecting courses from Areas II and IV, please note that at least one 6sh sequence
in either Literature (Area II) or History (Area IV) must be completed.
AREA III:
A grade of "C" or higher is required in the Math course chosen. "D" grades will not
transfer.
Students attending Troy University are required to take a Calculus course. Students
attending a community college are strongly encouraged to take MTH 125(Calculus I)
to meet this requirement.
Students pursuing the EET major with TROY must complete a physics with calculus sequence.
Students attending a community college are strongly encouraged to take PHY 213/214(General
Physics w/Calculus I/II) to meet this requirement.
AREA IV:
When selecting courses from Areas II and IV, please note that at least one 6sh sequence
in either Literature (Area II) or History (Area IV) must be completed.
AREA V:
NOTE: The Microcomputer Applications course and the Technical/Business Writing course
is NOT required at TROY. If taken, these courses will only apply as free elective
credit.
The remaining 19 SH in Area V can be obtained at the community college by taking 19 SH from the following:
- ORI 101 (Orientation to College)(1 SH)
- Free Elective (1-9 SH)
- MTH 125 (Calculus I)(4SH) – if not taken in Area III
- MTH 126 (Calculus II)(4SH)
- CHM 111 (College Chemistry I)(4SH) – if not taken in Area III
- PHY 213/214 (General Physics w/Calculus I/II)(4/4SH) – if not taken
Troy University Baccalaureate Degrees
The student seeking a baccalaureate degree must meet the following credit hour requirements:
- A minimum of 120 SH
- At least 50 percent of the degree program must be traditional academic credit.
- No more than 25 percent of the degree program may be earned using portfolio based credit.
- At least 25 percent of the degree program must be completed with Troy University.
- Twelve (12) semester hours of work in each major field must be completed in residence at Troy University.
